Hon. Juanita Head Walton

Welcome to the Home Page of the State Representative Juanita Head Walton.

Rep. Walton, a Democrat, represents parts of Bellefontaine Neighbors, Spanish Lake, Black Jack and unincorporated areas of North St. Louis County in the Missouri House of Representatives.

She formerly served on the St. Louis School Board and is Democratic Committeewoman of the Ferguson Township of St. Louis County. When Rep. Walton was first elected, she served as the Director of the Grace Hill Women's Business Center. She has also worked as a trainer for St. Louis Community College, an Instructor at Alabama State University and Administrator for Maritz Performance Improvement Company.

Rep. Walton is a member of Coleman-Wright C.M.E. Church, where she serves as a missionary, former trustee and former usher. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Gamma Omega Chapter; Archway Chapter of the Links; Leadership America, President of the National Order of Women Legislators (NOWL), Chair of the National Foundation of Women Legislators (NFWL); Recording Secretary of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL); and President of the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus Foundation.

Rep. Walton has received the following awards throughout her career: the NFWL 2004 Policy Chair Award, Wetterau 2002 Award, and Lights on After School Award, Sentinel Newspaper, Who’s Who in Black St. Louis, Lincoln University Alumni and St. Louis Public Schools.

She is the granddaughter of Willie Head, the first African American Mayor in the state of Missouri--Kinloch, Mo., 1948.

A graduate of Kinloch High School, Rep. Walton received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Lincoln University, and a Master's Degree in Corporate Communications from Lindenwood College.

She is married to Attorney Elbert Walton and they have two sons, Elbert III and Johnathan.
