A Message From Rochelle
Hello:
This campaign was very hard work and I could not have done it without
the support of my family and friends. It especially took a great deal
of support/help from my immediate family members and a great deal of
commitment from them. We campaigned, daily. Some of my family members
even took their vacations the week before and the week of to help me
with my campaign. We went out everyday, except Sundays. If it
rained, people came to the office and we made calls. My intention was
to make some type of personal contact with as many voters, as
possible. Just know that it takes that kind of dedication from people
to really win a race. Although, I am sure that the Walton name helped
a lot, we still had to get the "name" out there and we had to
counter-act the negative publicity.

I want to first thank the voters of the 81st District for having
enough confidence in me to nominate me as their democratic candidate
for state representative. I truly appreciate your vote.
I would like to add that...I am the type of person who always wants to
see everybody happy and successful. I am not at all comfortable with
the fact that in order to win somebody has to lose -- no matter how
"negative" the other person is. So, please know that my "win" IS
bitter-sweet because I whole heartedly supported all of those Unity
PAC endorsed candidates who ran for office, yesterday. Especially,
the ones who I had a personal relationship with and worked with on a
regular basis throughout this campaign. That is why I could not be as
excited as I would have, because I wanted us "all" to win.
Finally, I want to thank everyone who did ANYTHING to help make my
race a success. My parents, my mother, my husband, my daughter, my
sister, my brother-in-law, my best friend, nieces & nephew and my
sisters/brothers in Christ were just awesome.
Love,
Rochelle
